Here are Catherine Brown’s remarks on Thomas Klein:

Today, I am honored to comment on another aspect of Tom’s life, his commitment to Philanthropy. When you think of the concepts of hospitality and philanthropy, you can understand why the traits of Tom Klein exemplify both! Concepts such as “help and assistance to people; creating a better experience for individual journeys — whether these journeys are troubled or joyous, tirelessly serving others with a deep seated value of helping another” — this describes Tom.

The city of San Francisco, California and the nation have benefitted from these values. Yes, indeed philanthropic values of Tom’s. Whether it is through the creation of a first of its kind industry campaign like the Million Dollar Mission, serving on a strategic board or walking in a charity walk, Tom is there again and again. His accomplishments with one charity alone, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, raised over $1million to further blood cancer research.

Tom brings giving back to a new level; it comes from a deep seated place in his heart and soul. A core value, he carries with him daily through business, family and fun! We are all better people for having known Tom– I am lucky for having the past and continued example of a life extremely well lived. Tom, from all of us in the philanthropic sector, our eternal and heartfelt gratitude.
