"I have been a supporter of the John Wayne Cancer Foundation for almost 5 years. When the Grit Series was started, I was thrilled to be a part of it, not only as a volunteer, but also as a participant and a fundraiser. The staff at JWCF have made it so easy to help fight this fight against cancer, which I do in honor of my father. The GS events are not just events to raise money. They raise awareness. They promote camaraderie. They draw you in and make you feel like family. The experience of running across that finish line is like no other - a sense of accomplishment, a knowing that every step of the way, a life will be touched through the work that the JWCF funds and provides!! Every participant has a story, and this community of support is nothing like I have ever seen! I am honored to be a part of the JWGS, and call several of the staff and volunteers my friends.
