Join us on Saturday, October 16, 2021 for the Grit Series Run at Lone Pine! The Lone Pine 10K & Half Marathon benefits John Wayne Cancer Foundation, so every step you take helps advance the fight against cancer through pioneering cancer research and programs.
Due to the circumstances regarding COVID-19, the John Wayne Cancer Foundation is planning for this race to be a virtual run. We have high hopes of getting together to run in person soon!

- On Friday, join us at a Meet Up Open House at the Alabama Hill Cafe from 5-7 pm
- spaghetti, salad, garlic bread, beer and wine will be available for purchase
PACKET PICK UP
Packet Pick Up is on Saturday, October 19th, ONLY at the start line - more info below
-Every participant gets one FREE admission to the Museum of Western Film History in Lone Pine
- take your bib to the museum to get an entry ticket
-On Saturday after the run, join us for a Grit Down Open House at the Alabama Hills Cafe from 2 - 5 PM
- hamburgers, hot dogs, and fries will be available for purchase
-remaining Brewery X beer and Duke Bourbon from the run will be free until it runs out

ANNOUNCEMENTS AND START TIMES
The JWGS Lone Pine half marathon and 10K announcements start at 7:30 AM
Half Marathon starts at 8:00 AM
10K starts at 8:30 AM
PARKING
Parking is free at the Museum of Western Film History (701 S Main St, Lone Pine, CA 93545) in Lone Pine on Saturday, October 19, 1024.
Take the shuttle from the parking lot to the start line.
There is no parking at start line.
SHUTTLES TO START LINE
Half marathon runners only from 6 AM to 6:30 AM
Half Marathon and 10K runners – take shuttles 6:30 AM to 8 AM
Shuttles take approximately 20 minutes to get to the start line
NOTE
The event is cup less. Bring your own filled handheld water bottle or hydration pack to the event and refill it at aid stations.
There will not be any cups at the aid stations. We will have filled water bottles for finishers at the finish line.

There will be 3 aid stations on the course for the Half Marathon and 2 aid stations for the 10K

COURSE INFORMATION
Both loop courses start and finish alongside Movie Road and are chip timed for those that want to race or you can go at your own pace. At the finish line, you'll be rewarded with a finisher mug and the satisfaction of knowing that you stepped up to the challenge and helped fight cancer!
The elevation at Lone Pine is 3,700 feet.
